In toata presa de ieri a aparut declaratia lui Izsak Balazs, presedintelele Consiliului National Secuiesc, in care eram anuntati ca a primit o instiintare scrisa  in data de 13 mai, de la Corporatia pentru Atribuirea Numelor si Numerelor in Internet ( ICANN), iar codul “.sic” a fost atribuit, ca nume de domeniu de nivel superior, Tinutului Secuiesc.

Am cautat in corespondenta publica ICANN (http://www.icann.org/correspondence/) si nu am gasit nimic pe 13 mai sau despre .sic .

In Root Zone Database (http://www.iana.org/domains/root/db/) de la IANNA unde sunt trecute toate detaliile despre un TLD nu apare nimic despre .sic, dar apare despre .cat (extensie ce reprezinta Catalunia si este sponsorizata) http://www.iana.org/domains/root/db/cat.html

Cerinta celor care vor un Tinut Secuiesc se incadreaza foarte bine la http://blog.icann.org/2008/09/abkhazia-kosovo-south-ossetia-transnistria-my-oh-my/ .
Eventual .sic ar putea fi un gTLD (http://www.icann.org/en/registries/about.htm), dar momentan nu se pot rezerva gTLD-uri pentru ca inca nu s-au finalizat toate detaliile din caietul din sarcini ce trebuie respectate. In plus pot aparea foarte multe probleme referitoare la regiuni si nume. Cine va avea dreptul de a inregistra .nepal ? China sau regiunea Nepal ? Cel mai probabil o regiune va putea inregistra un gTLD numai cu acceptul statului din care face parte, cum a fost in cazul Cataluniei .
Domeniile de tip gTLD aprobate de ICANN sunt : .aero, .biz, .cat, .com, .coop, .info, .jobs, .mobi, .museum, .name, .net, .org, .pro, and .travel.
